Congratulations to our Chess Nuts, who took part in the Ficheall chess tournament in Ovens yesterday. The team were outstanding and came 7th overall – an incredible achievement!
Of particular note were the performances of Tom O’Sullivan, who won 5 out of his 6 games, and Alice Buckley, who won 4 of hers – outstanding!
Many thanks to Mr. Hogan for all his work in preparing the team for the tournament and we would also like to acknowledge the past work by Mr. Hanevy, who instilled a love of chess in our pupils at a very early age.
Well done to Alice, Portia, Aoife, Eimear, Hazel, Anneliese, Tom and Katie!
